Throughout the year, St. Gregory the Great parish offers a variety of events for people of all ages, both newcomers and seasoned parishioners, with the goal of strengthening ties, deepening personal faith, and building a sense of community.
The Family Ministry plays a very active role in organizing and hosting monthly events geared to the entire parish family. Spaghetti dinners, pancake breakfasts, outdoor picnics and barbecues, and a simple supper and reflection during Lent are some of the events this group hosts.
The parish holds a new parishioner dinner twice a year to help newcomers integrate into the life of the parish.
There is also an annual Gregorian Awards and Dinner Dance that honors parishioners who reflect the values and spirit of St. Gregory the Great Parish.
Once or twice a year small groups meet in parishioners' homes for 5 to 6 weeks to share and deepen their faith journeys. These small faith-sharing groups usually coincide with a special season of the Church like Lent or Advent.
In addition to these parish events to build community, St. Gregory's vision and goal also includes offering the greater community a broad and inclusive program of exciting events throughout the calendar year. Whether it is a music program, poetry reading, and lecture or art exhibition, the St. Gregory the Great Special Events initiative promises a unique and enriching way to spend an evening in an aesthetically uplifting setting.
